Open to full-time mechanical / robotics roles — New York, work authorization TBC

Mechanical design · Automation · Product

I design machines, products, and the pictures that sell them.

Eight years, usually as the only engineer on the job. Concept through CAD, prototyping, fabrication and commissioning — and the render that closes the deal.

0Engineer on most of them. Usually me, alone

Machines, products, drawings, and the films of them running.

Filter by what it was, or by what came out of it. The range is the point.

How I run a job.

Working alone is only fast if it is systematic. This is the order, every time.

01

Measure the real thing

Site survey, existing equipment, actual product. Briefs describe intent; tape measures describe constraints.

02

Model it completely

Full CAD or a digital twin before anything is committed. Interferences get found on screen, not on the floor.

03

Build it myself

Print, machine, fold, assemble. Owning fabrication is why iterations take days instead of purchase-order cycles.

04

Prove it, then document it

Test against spec, then hand over drawings, BOM, and supplier package so it can be built again without me.

Where I have been.

Eight years across startup, consulting, and production environments.

I opened Loominate Labs after noticing the same gap everywhere I worked: small manufacturers need engineering, they need it to look good, and they can't justify hiring for either.

So I do both. I've designed automated packaging lines, taken a $3M robotic system from proposal to commissioning, mapped facilities into digital twins, developed consumer products through tooling, and rendered the animations that won the work in the first place.

Most of it under deadline, most of it as the single resource. That's not a boast about stamina — it's why the turnaround is short. Nothing waits on a handoff.

“A short quote from a manager, colleague, or client about how you work — ownership, turnaround, or solving something nobody else could. Two sentences is plenty.”

Hiring for something mechanical?

I am looking for a role where one person is expected to carry hardware from sketch to working machine. Happy to walk through any of this in detail.
